- Know what forms of payment are acceptable to the company – if credit card only then be aware.
- Make sure the pickup and delivery is done by the same carrier and not sold to another outside carrier.
- Check any company with the Better Business Bureau.
- Try to get references and recommendations from the company and check that they are legitimate.
- Check if the company quotes you a fixed price and if they charge for extra.
- Make sure you receive everything in writing.
- Ask them if they have a customer relations department in case of damage or complaints.
- Make sure that they have legitimate insurance coverage.
- You must insist that any company you use will guarantee pick up and delivery dates.
